Northwest Coast Art

One of the largest inventories of Native American and Southwestern arts, crafts, and jewelry in the U.S.

Hopi kachina carvingsAnderson’s is one of the most respected Indian art dealers in the U.S. We have been in the business of buying, trading, and selling Navajo rugs, Hopi kachinas, baskets, pottery, art, and much more since 1969. Each year, we conduct 26 major sales in several states, traveling the U.S. with our exceptional inventory. Now we have set up this “virtual trading post” so you can not only browse some of our collection but also learn about the work of native artisans from the great Southwest.

In addition to our large and varied inventory, we offer jewelry repair, custom-order services, and verbal and written appraisals of Southwest and Native American art and jewelry. Our prices are among the most compettive in the business—typically 30 to 40 percent less than what you’d pay in a gallery.

Authentic Navajo, Hopi, and Zuni arts and crafts — jewelry, pottery, rugs, baskets, kachinas, and more... we even carry rare and hard-to-find items for serious collectors.

If you are a collector, or if you simply enjoy and take pride in the arts and crafts of the American Indian, our selection is beyond compare. Our shows feature prehistoric (all legal), protohistoric, historic, and contemporary works. Our showrooms average 3,500 to 4,000 square feet of displays, with an inventory of several thousand items that constantly change as we travel the nation. Jewelry of Navajo silversmtih Shorty Perry

This Month’s Featured
Artist: Perry Shorty, Navajo Silversmith

Silversmth Perry Shorty uses traditional techniques to create jewelry in a style reminiscent of the 1940s. His work might be defined as a revival of the elegant classic jewelry of that period. Shorty makes most of the stamps used to imprint designs into the silver. “I try to keep things simple,” he says. “The old smiths didn’t have a lot of tools and materials to work with, and I like doing it their way.” Twisted-wire designs and delicate scrolls, all made from silver wire, are meticulously hand-fashioned as is all of his work.
